Ryan Hall is undoubtedly Leeds Rhinos powerhouse. His blitzing runs and the way he terrorises defenses to score tries for his Super League side is second to none. However, despite this fearless stature, he has a soft side and no one know this at a more personal level than Vicky, his fiancé. In an exclusive interview, he had with Starsport, Hall disclosed how he and Vicky became foster parents of a little boy in Leeds.
Ryan Hall describes himself more as a jack of all trades instead of the big talent that many in Leeds and beyond like to think of him. He is an accomplished saxophonist and pianists and on a part time basis, he pursues his accountancy degree.
I met with the couple at I-Do wedding fair, Elland Road as they were sampling various service providers and shopping for inspirations ahead of their wedding. From the moment we met, I knew this partnership would work because of their pleasant personality.
The Woodlands Hotel Wedding Venue
This is a perfect venue for anyone getting hitched in Leeds. Located on Gelderd Road, Gildersome, this hotel offers stylish and romantic wedding celebration packages in West Yorkshire. The luxury and the elegance coupled with its proximity to Leeds city centre is exactly what Vicky & Ryan Hall wanted for their big day.
Being a privately owned and managed hotel, Woodlands gives couples the liberty to set their own rules and design their packages so that everything becomes bespoken. They have a wedding coordinator open to helping out with the wedding day planning if required and they also have a huge network of suppliers to hire. The most important thing is they are fully licensed to hold civil ceremonies as well as accommodate weddings with guests ranging from 30 to 200.
I was quite familiar with the venue because I have covered weddings here before, but that did not stop me from giving Vicky & Ryan Hall’s wedding a unique and fresh approach.
The Wedding Ceremony
Our team arrived 2 hours prior to the start of the wedding and we quickly setup with some of us covering the bride while others the groom and still another batch was at the Woodlands Hotel grounds covering the event from there.
Vicky looked awesome in her gown and her bridesmaids were so charming that we found ourselves filming and taking shots every single minute. We covered the whole procession to the venue where both the wedding and the reception were to take place. Being the only hired photographers, we were in charge of both the filming and photography.
Most of the Leeds Rhinos had come to witness this beautiful I-Do moment and the after party with their friend Ryan. Among the notable faces were Carl Ablett, Paul Aiton, Ryan Bailey, and Luke Briscoe. Some were even among the groomsmen.
Being one of the few weddings held in New Year’s Eve, there was a lot of celebrations as midnight approached because the party had just started. The surprise excitement, champagne, fireworks, theme flavours, and the glitter and glam all served to make the wedding a beautiful one. We had a photo taken with the couple and we stayed at the party until 2.00 a.m.
