Marriage is one of the most exciting lifetime commitments and a wedding is the doorway to usher couples into this life. This is what exactly happened to Teresa & Tom, a beautiful and charming couple who despite attending the same elementary, middle school, and high school never met until they were both into their working life.
After dating for a while, they decided to tie the knot on May 13, 2017 together with their young daughter Chloe. Craig Garside Photography was privileged to be the photographers for the event.

The Wedding Venue

Wood Hall Hotel and Spa in Weatherby, West Yorkshire is simply a perfect retreat for indulgent relaxation. It is located on 100 acres of land and the hotel itself is perched on a hill. The historical significance of this country escape makes it the more reason why it fits the bill to be a wedding venue. The hotel was completed in 1790 and offers 44 bedrooms, a small health club and spa, as well as a 2AA Rosette restaurant.
The grounds and gardens at the hotel were excellent and they simply complimented the fine dining and unique contemporary style befitting the wedding. Everything was uniquely special from the staffs to then décor and the team of coordinators who were working tirelessly to make this day a memorable one. The hotel has a capacity of about 150 people for an evening reception and about 100 for a wedding breakfast.

Our Photography and Film Coverage

We started covering the wedding right from Wood Hall hotel all the way to All Saints Church in Sherburn In Elmet where the ceremony was taking place and then back to Wood Hall. We had a team of experienced photographers who spread themselves out between the two venues so as to capture every moment as it unfolded.
We did digital, film, classic, and a few artistic photos. This was what the couple had requested. The beauty with digital photography style is that the photos do not take long to process and thank to our cameras, we were able to shoot even in areas of low light. Sorting out the photos became much easier because we were able to preview them as we took the shots. As always, Craig Garside Photography tries pushing the boundary in terms of creativity and this gave us a much easier time choosing the images to put together in their album.
Shooting with film is a little bit more tasking, but we assured Teresa and Tom that we will do a good job for them. The quality of our film after editing was excellent and our turnaround was just what we had anticipated and planned with the couple.

What Made Our Shots Spectacular

Since we had discussed beforehand with the couple, we had created a shot list which made our work much easier. All the photos they wanted taken were done so professionally. Our photo coordinators worked well with the crowd and we were able to capture all the moments we had envisioned earlier.
We had visited the location before the wedding and since it is a place we have taken several photos for separate occasions, we were quite familiar with the area. We knew how to position ourselves for the best shots. We always prepare ourselves and for this we ensured we have a backup plan just in case the weather decided to misbehave. All our batteries were charged, our memory cards blank, and our itinerary set.
Thanks to our experience, Teresa, Tom, and their young daughter Chloe had a spectacular wedding that we are sure will live to remember.
